Information about CBT
It has been recognised from research that computerised CB therapy and Self Help can be very helpful to people and offers some real benefits to those people who are currently receiving help and also to those who are on NHS waiting lists for therapy.
The benefits of this website include the degree of privacy and confidentiality, you may choose your own time to engage in this work and you can proceed at your own pace.
Remember that most CBT will take place over three to six months on a weekly or fortnightly basis with a personal therapist. Usually people will receive between 10 - 20 sessions of CBT to help them.
More enduring problems may take much longer but the treatment is always focused and there are specific stages and skills to proceed through.
Cognitive Behavioural approaches can be used with children and adolescents also.
